Generator Load Bank Testing
Preventative generator maintenance should include an annual load bank test to ensure that your generator performs in the event of a power failure. It will also allow your generator to operate more cleanly and efficiently, and ensure that the unit is working exactly as it was designed to do. Regardless of whether your generator’s engine is fueled by diesel or natural gas, it can benefit tremendously from our load bank testing service. A load bank test checks the generator engine’s ability to perform and provide the required horsepower needed in an emergency. A load bank test provides an artificial load that brings the engine to an acceptable operating temperature, ensuring functionality when your home or business needs it most.
Why is this important? If your critical load does not equal your generators capacity, you will not be able to predict how your generator will react in an emergency unless it is run to its rated load and given the opportunity to perform.
A load bank test should be performed at least on an annual basis to improve the life of the engine and alternator. The test gives you peace of mind that your generator will remain reliable throughout power interruptions and keeps your home and business running smoothly.
Emergency Standby Power has the ability to load test generator sets, both diesel and natural gas fueled, either at our facility or regionally at your site.
